Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Float Pool)

Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care within a PCU/IMC float pool covering multiple specialty units including General, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation
  • Manage and titrate cardiac drips and other vasoactive or sedative infusions including dopamine, dobutamine, cardizem, amiodarone, ativan, insulin, and heparin
  • Care for an adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses spanning cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, oncologic, renal, urological, surgical, gynecological, psychiatric/detox, and general medicine conditions
  • Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3–4 based on patient acuity, with nurse aide support available on unit
  • Float throughout the assigned zone (up to a 60-mile radius from the zone's city center) as needed to fill scheduling gaps across PCU/Stepdown and MS-Tele units; may also be asked to cover low-acuity ICU holds
  • Adhere to a leadership-generated 6-week schedule, fulfill weekend shift requirements (6–9 shifts per 6-week block), and participate in holiday rotation as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license valid in the state of Colorado
  • Minimum 2 years of PCU/IMC experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Demonstrated experience managing and titrating cardiac drips, insulin, ativan, and heparin
  • Ability to operate RT equipment including ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP
  • Must be present in state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior experience in a neurological nursing setting
  • Experience working with Epic electronic health records
  • Prior travel nursing or float pool experience in a multi-specialty environment
