Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed Multi-Trauma Unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
Manage complex trauma patients including those requiring chest tubes, tracheostomies, and suction
Operate and monitor specialized equipment including ventilators, feeding pumps, IV pumps, wound vacs, and specialty beds
Perform and assist with bedside procedures including chest tube placement and bedside bronchoscopy
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, physicians, and patient care technicians
Document patient care accurately using the Meditech/CPN electronic medical record system
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital PCU experience
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Prior experience with Meditech EMR
Experience caring for high-acuity trauma patients in a Level 1 trauma center environment
