Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed Stepdown/Med-Surg unit managing common diagnoses including respiratory issues, weakness, UTI, AKI, and chest pain
- Maintain Stepdown patient ratios of 1:3 and Med-Surg floor ratios of 1:5–6, with support from nurse aides (2 per shift)
- Titrate drips including Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, and Amiodarone per physician orders and unit protocols
- Monitor patients on telemetry; cardiac strips monitored remotely by an external monitoring team
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy staff managing CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment
- Adhere to unit dress code (royal blue scrubs) and complete unit-specific orientation upon hire
Required Qualifications- Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of West Virginia or compact state eligibility
- Current BLS certification (must be unexpired)
- Current ACLS certification (must be unexpired)
- Demonstrated experience in a Stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting
- Proficiency in titrating IV drips including Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, and Amiodarone
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience working with telemetry monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms
- Familiarity with respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems
- Prior experience in a Med-Surg or combined Stepdown/Med-Surg unit environment
