Provide direct patient care in a 26-bed Telemetry Intermediate Care unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
Monitor and manage patients with common diagnoses including CHF, COVID pneumonia, atrial fibrillation with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, and syncope
Administer and manage telemetry-related medications including Cardizem, Lasix, renal dopamine, and nitroglycerin under central telemetry monitoring
Operate and monitor non-invasive respiratory support equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and Vapotherm (no ventilators)
Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
Float to other units as needed, maintaining the same patient ratio as the assigned unit
Required Qualifications
Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Ability to work every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and every other holiday
Must pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in a telemetry, intermediate care, PCU, or stepdown nursing environment
Familiarity with EPIC EMR
Experience with central telemetry monitoring and management of cardiac arrhythmias
