Travel Nurse RN - Intermediate Care in Galesburg, IL

Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Telemetry Intermediate Care)

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) | Every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 26-bed Telemetry Intermediate Care unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5
• Monitor and manage patients with common diagnoses including CHF, COVID pneumonia, Atrial Fibrillation with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, and syncope
• Administer and manage telemetry-related medications including Cardizem, Lasix, renal dopamine, and nitroglycerin under central telemetry monitoring
• Operate and monitor respiratory support equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, High-Flow/Vapotherm (no ventilators)
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
• Float to other units as needed, maintaining the same patient ratio of 1:5

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois (IL) RN License (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS Certification (required)
• ACLS Certification (required)
• Ability to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a telemetry, intermediate care, PCU, or stepdown unit setting
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR
• Experience caring for cardiac patients including those with Afib, CHF, and syncope-related diagnoses
• Comfort working alongside charge nurses, hospitalists, APNs, and respiratory therapy in a collaborative care environment
