Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Telemetry Intermediate)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) required | Every other holiday required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a 26-bed Telemetry Intermediate unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
- Monitor and manage patients with common diagnoses including CHF, COVID pneumonia, atrial fibrillation with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, and syncope
- Administer and monitor telemetry-related medications including Cardizem, Lasix, renal dopamine, and nitroglycerin under central telemetry monitoring
- Manage patients on BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and Vapotherm (no ventilator management required)
- Document patient care and assessments using EPIC EMR
- Float to other units as needed, maintaining the same patient ratio of 1:5
Required Qualifications- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Ability to pass a drug screen; must comply with a drug-free workplace policy
- Willingness to work every other weekend and every other holiday
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience in a telemetry, intermediate care, PCU, or stepdown nursing environment
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR
- Experience caring for patients on BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, or Vapotherm
