Provide direct nursing care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients who do not require ICU-level care, from admission through discharge including discharge planning
Care for patient populations including post-op surgical, pre/post PCI, pacemaker placement, revascularization, carotid endarterectomy, thoracotomy, CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, DVT, PE, and sepsis
Operate advanced medical equipment and manage patients with central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, multiple IVs, long-term stable ventilation, and CPAP/BiPAP support
Perform skilled patient assessment and intervention, recognizing and responding to potentially deteriorating conditions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes
Act as a clinical leader, assist with precepting staff, and provide direction to LPNs, CNAs, and ancillary staff as needed; complement the Medical Surgical unit when staffing needs arise
Required Qualifications
Current State of Montana RN Licensure (or ability to obtain)
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire
Ability to operate advanced medical equipment including A-lines, invasive lines, chest tubes, and ventilatory support devices
Proficiency in basic cardiac telemetry and EKG interpretation
Ability to manage common IV medications including Heparin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine (non-titrated), Lasix/Bumex, Amiodarone, and Dopamine (non-titrated)
Preferred Experience / Skills
ENPC and/or TNCC certification
Pediatric nursing experience
Experience with post-heart catheterization care and post-operative vascular surgery patients
