Job Title
Registered Nurse – Step Down Unit (IMC/PCU/Telemetry)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Night Shifts | Every third weekend; every other holiday
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a Step Down / PCU / Telemetry setting, managing a patient population that includes sepsis, CHF, COPD, DKA, cirrhosis, dementia, and surgical patients (urology, abdominal, ortho)
Initiate and titrate drips including insulin, heparin, and cardiac medications
Perform telemetry interpretation; travelers will be required to pass telemetry competency tests
Document and chart using Epic EMR system; completion of a checkoff class will be required
Float within skillset as first to float; potential cross-campus float to nearby Indiana campuses with a minimum 2-hour notice provided
May be required to precept students and new hires as this is a teaching facility
Required Qualifications
Active, current RN Compact License required
AHA BLS certification required
AHA ACLS certification required
NIHSS certification required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year of Step Down / PCU experience
At least 1 prior travel assignment required
Recent Epic EMR experience required
Must not reside within 40 miles of the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
PIV insertion, chest tube and indwelling drain management, CBI, and blood product administration
Experience with stable home vents, continuous BiPap, and neutropenic precautions
Familiarity with stable drip management (e.g., Lasix, Protonix)
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills; ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
