Registered Nurse – Neuro/PCU (Stepdown)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a Neuro/PCU stepdown unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5
- Monitor and assess neurological and progressive care patients, responding promptly to changes in condition
- Perform telemetry monitoring in accordance with unit competency requirements
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic electronic health records
- Float within scope to meet facility needs, including like units, as required
- Participate in emergency response team assignments during hurricane season (June–November) as directed
Required Qualifications- Active South Carolina RN license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start date
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Neuro/PCU or comparable stepdown setting
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
- Demonstrated telemetry competency required
- No first-time travelers; prior travel nursing experience preferred
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with Epic electronic health records charting system
- Flexibility to accommodate varying unit scheduling needs, including block schedule requests (subject to approval)
