RN PCU / Stepdown – Cardiac Unit

Lima, OH

Contract | Days | Weekender Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend, Every Other Holiday | 36 or 48 Hours per Week (Friday–Sunday or Friday–Monday rotation)

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness using clinical judgment and evidence-based practice.
• Administer and manage cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitroglycerin, Heparin, and Insulin in a safe and policy-compliant manner.li>Provide care for post-cardiac cath, post-pacer, post-MitraClip, post-TAVR, new-onset AFib, chest pain, COPD, and heart failure patients.
• Manage patients requiring advanced respiratory support including mechanical ventilation, tracheostomy, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, and high flow nasal cannula.
• Monitor and manage lines, drains, and post-cath closure devices including figure-8 stitch, angioseal, and femostop.
• Serve as a point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team and communicating with patients and families.

• Current RN license in the state of practice or covered under a compact license agreement.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from an approved source required prior to direct patient care.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
• NIH Stroke Certification required.
• Dysrhythmia Exam required (study guide available upon request).
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience with demonstrated experience caring for pre- and post-cardiac catheterization patients and patients requiring ventilator and/or tracheostomy management.

• CCRN or PCCN certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) system preferred.
• Completion of a Critical Care Course preferred.

• Work in a specialized 18-bed cardiac PCU/stepdown unit with a focused, high-acuity patient population and a collaborative interdisciplinary care team.
