Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Cardiac IMCU / PCU Stepdown unit at a Level II Trauma facility
Monitor and manage cardiac patients including telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips, and chest tube care
Care for a diverse patient population including pre- and post-operative cardiac surgery, CHF, stroke/TIA, pacemakers, heart blocks, and vascular conditions
Maintain patient ratios of 1:5–6 for cardiac patients and 1:3–4 for PCU/stepdown patients
Float to other units as required based on census and staffing needs
Document patient care accurately using Cerner EHR
Required Qualifications
Active RN licensure in good standing
Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
Experience with cardiac patient populations, cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, and chest tubes
Associate degree in Nursing (minimum required education)
Ability to work every other weekend and on-call as needed for low census
Preferred Experience / Skills
PCU and stepdown patient population experience
Low-level ICU skills
2+ years of stepdown or neuro stepdown nursing experience
