Travel RN – PCU / Cardiac Stepdown (Nights)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours per Week Guaranteed | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to cardiac, PCU, and stepdown patient populations in a 36-bed Cardiac IMCU unit at a Level II Trauma facility
- Monitor and manage patients via telemetry, including cardiac drips and cardiac monitoring equipment
- Assist with care of patients presenting with diagnoses including chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre- and post-open heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular conditions, and CHF
- Manage chest tubes and perform stepdown-level interventions as required by patient acuity
- Float to other units as needed based on census and staffing requirements
- Document all patient care accurately using Cerner EHR
Required Qualifications- Active RN licensure in good standing (compact or Michigan state license)
- Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience; 2+ years preferred
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
- Experience with cardiac patient populations, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and cardiac drips
- Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
- Proficiency with Cerner EHR
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with PCU and stepdown patient populations
- Low-level ICU skills and familiarity with higher-acuity stepdown care
- Strong teamwork orientation and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment
