Provide direct patient care in a Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit setting with varying patient acuity levels, including patients who may be classified as Progressive Care or Telemetry in larger facilities
Maintain a standard patient ratio of 1:4, with flexibility to 1:5 during emergencies
Perform IV insertions and manage telemetry monitoring, including reading and interpreting cardiac rhythm strips
Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner using Cerner EMR
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
Active RN license in West Virginia or a valid Compact license (pending license accepted at time of submission)
Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year in a Medical/Surgical or Telemetry setting and 2 years in a Stepdown unit
Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Proficiency in IV insertion and telemetry monitoring, including strip reading
Ability to use Cerner EMR; completion of required Cerner modules prior to start date
Permanent address greater than 100 miles from the facility (candidates between 75–100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience caring for patients with varying acuity levels, including Progressive Care and Telemetry patients
Familiarity with weekend block scheduling (Friday–Sunday or Saturday–Monday)
Prior travel nursing experience, though not required
