Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a 24-bed stepdown unit serving medical/surgical and trauma populations, including brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, traumatic fractures, and complex wound management
- Perform continuous hemodynamic monitoring and basic EKG interpretation for all 24 monitored beds
- Titrate drips including cardizem, labetalol, amiodarone, and other vasoactive medications as indicated
- Manage respiratory-compromised patients including BiPAP, CPAP, tracheostomies, and chronic vent-dependent patients
- Collaborate with clinical associates, charge nurses, and house supervisors to maintain a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Participate in unit floating rotation, weekend, and holiday coverage on a rotational basis
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current, unexpired BLS certification
- Minimum of 1 year of stepdown, IMC, or PCU nursing experience
- Strong patient assessment skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced trauma environment
- Basic EKG interpretation skills
- Ability to titrate drips and manage hemodynamically monitored patients
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment
- Familiarity with microvascular free flap post-operative care or advanced diabetic management
- Prior experience managing BiPAP, CPAP, or chronic ventilator-dependent patients
