Registered Nurse – Stepdown / Intermediate Care Unit (IMC/PCU)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Weekdays with some weekends | Possible Extension
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a Stepdown / Intermediate Care Unit setting with varying acuity levels
- Maintain a standard patient ratio of 1:4, with flexibility to 1:5 in emergency situations
- Perform IV starts and continuous telemetry monitoring, including strip reading
- Utilize electronic medical records system (Cerner) for documentation and care coordination
- Care for patients whose acuity may range from medical/telemetry to progressive care levels
Required Qualifications- Active RN license in West Virginia or a valid Compact RN license (pending license acceptable)
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience overall
- At least 1 year of experience in a Medical/Surgical or Telemetry setting
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Stepdown or Progressive Care environment
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in IV insertion, telemetry monitoring, and cardiac strip interpretation
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with Cerner EMR
- Prior travel nursing experience
- Familiarity with progressive care or higher-acuity stepdown patient populations
