Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Contract | Nights | 3x12 Hours (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide IMC and medical-surgical stepdown level care for cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery patients
• Manage a patient ratio of 4:1, adjusted based on acuity per safe staffing matrix
• Care for patients with diagnoses including CHF exacerbation, dysrhythmias (Afib/Aflutter, SVT, V-tach), STEMI/NSTEMI, bradycardia, and pacemaker management
• Support pre-operative and post-operative patients including CABG, femoral bypass, thoracotomy, VATS, and CEA procedures
• Monitor and manage hemo/pneumothorax patients and those requiring Cath Lab procedures
• Float within scope to other units or sister facilities as needed to meet census demands

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of IMC, medical-surgical stepdown, cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, or cardiothoracic surgery experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Completed EKG course and/or telemetry competency test
• NIHSS certification required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for post-operative cardiothoracic surgery patients (CABG, VATS, CEA)
• Familiarity with temporary or external pacemaker management
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
