Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Float)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts | 19:00–07:30

Key Responsibilities

• Float across units to fill staffing needs throughout the facility, supporting a diverse patient population that may include telemetry, med-surg, and ER-boarded patients
• Deliver direct patient care with nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on unit acuity
• Assume charge nurse duties on designated smaller units, including managing staffing needs, bed flow, and general unit coordination
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Collaborate with LPNs, CNAs, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and quality of care
• May be expected to float to nearby sister facilities as needed to support staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license required; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a PCU, stepdown, or comparable acute care setting
• US-based clinical experience required; Canadian experience alone does not qualify
• Charge nurse experience is required
• Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler (local candidates may be considered under separate terms)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with telemetry monitoring and caring for a mixed acute care patient population
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system
• Prior travel nursing experience with demonstrated adaptability across multiple unit types
