Travel Nurse RN - Intermediate Care in Omaha, NE

Contract | Night Shift (1830–0700) | Onsite | 6-week scheduling cycles | 13-week contract

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 28-bed Progressive Care Unit serving adult medical, surgical, cardiac, and stroke patients
• Maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges in a high-flow environment
• Titrate drips including Heparin, octreotide, insulin, Cardizem, nitroglycerin, and other IV infusions per protocol
• Read and interpret telemetry monitoring independently
• Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs (1:14 ratio), and interdisciplinary team members to deliver safe, effective care
• Float to other units including Med/Surg and, based on abilities, ICU or ED as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry/cardiac monitoring
• Ability to titrate IV drips and manage complex medical/surgical and cardiac patients
• Must pass a unit-specific open-book skills exam with a score of 90% or higher during orientation
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; compliance is required as a condition of contract

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a PCU, stepdown, or IMC setting
• Familiarity with stroke and cardiac patient populations
• Experience with specialty equipment such as LUCAS devices, Hoyer lifts, and Sit-to-Stand lifts
