Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Stepdown Critical Care)

Contract (13 or 26 week options available) | Night Shift (4x12 Hours, 19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hour weekly options | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide intermediate-level critical care to patients requiring a level of care between intensive care and progressive care units in a 12-bed Stepdown Critical Care unit
  • Collaborate with Critical Care Intensivists and nursing staff to deliver care to complex patients including traumas, surgical, transplant, lung disorder, and ventilated patients
  • Manage and monitor IV drips as required across all floors
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic health records
  • Float within scope to various units and campuses as needed to meet facility staffing needs
  • Adhere to weekend and holiday scheduling requirements, including working 4 out of 8 possible weekend shifts per 4-week period and 2 out of 3 major holidays
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nebraska RN license required; pending license accepted if not yet in hand at time of submission)
  • Active AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
  • Proficiency with EPIC charting
  • Ability and willingness to float frequently to various units to meet staffing needs
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • CCRN or NIH Stroke Scale certification strongly preferred
  • Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center
  • Familiarity with care teams that include CNAs, care techs, transport teams, and paramedics/swoop personnel
