Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 35-bed Progressive Care Unit serving adult and geriatric populations with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, nephrology, stroke, diabetes, and continuous EEG monitoring
Titrate drips including Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5, collaborating with patient care techs assigned at a 1:10 ratio
Float as needed to medical floors, ICU, or rehabilitation units
Apply critical thinking and strong communication skills in a fast-paced environment to assess, prioritize, and respond to changing patient conditions
Participate in unit onboarding, including a required competency exam during the first week of orientation
Required Qualifications
Active RN licensure
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Current NIHSS certification
Minimum 1–2 years of PCU, IMC, or Stepdown nursing experience
Must achieve a passing score of 90% or higher on the unit competency exam administered during orientation
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with continuous EEG monitoring
Background in cardiac, nephrology, or stroke patient populations
Demonstrated ability to titrate drips in a progressive care or step-down setting
