    Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Neurology & Neurosurgery)

    Contract | Nights (3x12, 19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | 13 or 26 week contract options | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity unit encompassing Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Stepdown levels within a 48-bed Neurology and Neurosurgery setting
    • Care for a specialized patient population including strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, brain and spinal cord tumors, and other neurological conditions, including patients requiring long-term EEG monitoring
    • Manage patient assignments at established unit ratios (MS/Tele 1:5 days / 1:6 nights; Stepdown 1:3–4); be prepared to care for up to six Med Surg patients as staffing requires
    • Administer and monitor IV drips as required across all floors
    • Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
    • Float within scope to other units or campuses as needed to meet facility staffing needs
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or pending RN license for the state of Nebraska (pending licenses accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be scheduled six weeks out)
    • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
    • Proficiency with EPIC charting — prior EPIC experience is required
    • Demonstrated experience administering IV drips
    • Willingness and ability to float to other units and campuses within scope of practice
    • Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates are not accepted)
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center
    • Background in Neurology, Neurosurgery, or a related specialty
    • Familiarity with long-term EEG monitoring environments
