Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with moderate physiologic instability on an 18-bed Progressive Care / Telemetry unit, including COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF, and trach patients
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and respiratory management, with nursing assessments and vital signs every 3–4 hours
• Administer and manage oxygen therapies including nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, and AirVo; operate Alaris pumps, kangaroo pumps, and Pyxis systems
• Conduct blood glucose monitoring every 4 hours and neurological monitoring including NIHSS assessments at required frequencies
• Document patient care using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Participate in self-scheduling, including 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule, and adhere to the unit's floating policy as applicable to travel staff

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of PCU, telemetry, or step-down nursing experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for cardiac and pulmonary patient populations in a step-down or intermediate care setting
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic health records
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and advanced oxygen therapy modalities
