Registered Nurse (RN) – Stepdown / Cardiovascular Unit (Nights)

Key Responsibilities- Apply clinical judgment to assess, diagnose, and treat patient responses to actual or potential cardiovascular health conditions
- Provide direct nursing care for cardiology patients undergoing or recovering from procedures such as PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemaker placement
- Care for post-operative open heart surgery patients in the immediate recovery period (18–24 hours post-op)
- Manage and monitor patients with congestive heart failure and those undergoing electrophysiology studies
- Interpret EKG readings and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes
- Float to similar units as needed to support staffing and patient care continuity
Required Qualifications- Minimum 1 year of Stepdown (IMC/PCU) nursing experience
- Proficiency in cardiac nursing care
- Demonstrated comfort with EKG interpretation
- Active Michigan RN license (LARA and Nursys verification required)
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Completed RN skills checklist within the past year
- Willingness to float to similar units within the facility
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience caring for post-operative cardiac surgery patients
- Familiarity with electrophysiology patient populations
- Prior travel nursing experience
