Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every other weekend required | Holidays included in rotation
Key Responsibilities
Float across MedSurg Telemetry and PCU units on two campuses, including coverage for inpatients holding in the ED
Provide care for a diverse patient population including geriatric, orthopedic, post-procedural, post-MI, post-cardiac catheterization, and post-CABG (day 3–4) patients
Titrate drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin; travelers must be comfortable managing the majority of these drips
Interpret cardiac monitor strips; monitor techs support PCU and MedSurg Tele, with bedside monitors on Stepdown
Manage respiratory equipment including CPAP and BiPAP (MedSurg nights) and BiPAP, CPAP, and Heated High Flow (PCU)
Care for groin sites in the Stepdown unit following cardiac catheterization procedures
Required Qualifications
Active RN license in good standing
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of experience in a PCU setting
Must take and pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract signing
Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates who have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN at any affiliated facility within the past year are not eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience in a float pool or multi-unit environment
Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation in a stepdown or PCU setting
Experience caring for post-cardiac catheterization patients and managing groin sites
Ability to adapt to flexible scheduling; block scheduling may be accommodated on night shift when possible
