Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit with a 1:3–1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio depending on acuity
- Manage a patient population that includes dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary conditions, sepsis, high-flow oxygen needs, and behavioral patients requiring IV drip medications
- Administer and monitor a variety of vasoactive and cardiac medication drips including dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amiodarone, dobutamine, and nicardipine
- Maintain high throughput expectations consistent with a step-down level of care
- Collaborate closely with an on-unit educator to support clinical practice and staff development
- Participate in weekend rotation, working up to every other weekend
Required Qualifications- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or a compact state
- Experience in an IMC, PCU, or Stepdown clinical setting
- Proficiency in managing vasoactive and cardiac IV drip medications
- Ability to care for patients with dysrhythmias, sepsis, and high-acuity cardiopulmonary conditions
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience managing behavioral patients requiring IV drip therapy
- Familiarity with high-throughput step-down unit environments
- Experience working with on-unit educators or in structured clinical support environments
