Travel Nurse RN - Intermediate Care in Roanoke, VA

Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a telemetry PCU setting specializing in stroke, neurology, and hospitalist medicine patients
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
• Administer IV therapy, blood products, and cardiac drips (no titration required); manage central and peripheral line care
• Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Maintain isolation precautions and operate within telemetry and stepdown unit environments
• Float within skillset to other units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia State RN license or active Compact RN license required; pending license accepted only for candidates holding a single-state license from a non-compact state
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records required
• Demonstrated experience in a Neuro PCU, IMC, or stepdown unit setting
• Ability to work at least one holiday per 13-week contract period
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates within 50 miles may be considered for a single non-extendable 13-week assignment only

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Familiarity with IV drip management including Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Lidocaine, and Ketamine
• Experience with remote telemetry monitoring environments
