Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Vent Experience Required)

Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a hybrid PCU unit consisting of PCU and ICU beds, managing patients with diagnoses including DKA, COPD, sepsis, chronic respiratory failure, renal failure, and overdose/suicide
- Monitor and manage ventilator-dependent and chronic trach patients, including 2 dedicated chronic trach beds
- Perform cardiac monitoring, telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia recognition and management in a remote telemetry environment
- Administer IV therapy, blood products, and cardiac drips (no titration required); manage central and peripheral line care
- Activate and participate in Rapid Response and Code team events; maintain isolation precautions as required
- Float within skillset across PCU, DOU, IMC, and stepdown unit settings as needed
Required Qualifications- Active Virginia State RN license or active Compact RN license required at time of submission (pending license accepted only for candidates holding a single-state license from a non-compact state)
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Ventilator and tracheostomy patient care experience required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records required
- Experience with cardiac drip administration, phlebotomy, and respiratory support (nasal cannula, oxygen, non-invasive airway management)
- Must be available to work one holiday per 13-week contract period and meet weekend shift requirements (every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week block)
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience in a PCU, IMC, DOU, or stepdown unit setting
- Familiarity with tele-sitting workflows and remote telemetry monitoring environments
- Experience caring for patients with chronic respiratory failure or complex multi-system diagnoses
