Travel Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a 34-bed Progressive Care Unit with a 4:1 patient ratio, caring for cardiac, neurological, and progressive care patients
  • Perform telemetry interpretation and continuous cardiac monitoring with dedicated telemetry monitoring support
  • Manage vasoactive drips within PCU/IMC scope, chest tubes, high-flow oxygen therapy, BiPAP, and CPAP
  • Care for post-cardiac procedure patients and participate in rapid response situations, including TEE and cardioversion procedures
  • Conduct bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and uphold patient-centered care standards
  • Adhere to scheduling requirements including weekend shift rotations and holiday rotation, with floating within competency as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of PCU, IMC, or Step-Down nursing experience
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records documentation
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with Alaris IV infusion pumps and PCA pump management
  • Familiarity with high-acuity cardiac and neurological patient populations in a certified Stroke Center, Chest Pain Center, or Trauma Center environment
  • Strong time management skills in a fast-paced, high-census clinical setting
