Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups, including post-trauma, surgical, and medical comorbidity patients
Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
Operate and monitor unit-specific equipment including Philips monitors, chest tubes, arterial lines, wound vacs, drains, EVDs, Nicom, BiPAP, and Airvo
Float on a rotational basis to critical care cluster or med/surg as required
Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines
Required Qualifications
Current RN license; must be eligible for or currently hold licensure in the state of Missouri
Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (inpatient only)
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 through April 1 (declinations not accepted)
Ability to work weekends as required by the facility and orient on day shift during the first week of assignment
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience caring for neuro, trauma, alcohol withdrawal, respiratory distress, and insulin drip patients
Familiarity with EPIC EMR
Team-oriented approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced intermediate ICU environment
