Travel Telemetry / Stepdown Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Days)

Contract | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 36 or 48 hours per week guaranteed | 13–26 week assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Maintain professional accountability for the provision of patient care and evaluate the effectiveness of care delivered by other direct care givers
- Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality
- Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with established guidelines, applicable state nursing practice acts, and facility mission and values
- Perform physical care duties including lifting, pushing, and transporting patients as required in a high-acuity emergency department environment
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license; must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or hold an active Missouri RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- NIHSS certification required prior to start date
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Telemetry, Stepdown, or Emergency Department nursing (Level 3, Level 4, or critical access facility)
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required seasonally (November 1 – April 1); declinations are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in trauma and/or pediatric emergency care settings
- Background in high-volume environments (200+ patients per day) and high-acuity patient populations
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system
- Determined, decisive, and flexible personality well-suited to a fast-paced emergency department
