    Job Title

    Travel RN – Cardiac Surgery Intermediate / Step Down (Nights)

    Location

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Night Shift (19:00–07:00) | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for cardiac/thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, respiratory distress, alcohol withdrawal, and insulin drip patients
    • Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
    • Operate and manage specialized equipment including Philips monitors, chest tubes, arterial lines, wound vacs, pacer boxes, pacing wires, EKOS, Nicom, BiPAP, and Airvo
    • Float on a rotational basis to critical care cluster or med/surg as needed
    • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality in accordance with applicable nursing practice standards
    • Function within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the Missouri Nurse Practice Act
    Required Qualifications
    • Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold Missouri licensure
    • BLS certification from AHA required
    • ACLS certification from AHA required
    • Minimum 1 year of inpatient Step Down/PCU experience
    • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for assignments running November 1 through April 1 (declinations are not accepted)
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with cardiac and thoracic surgery patient populations
    • Proficiency with EPIC EMR
    • Familiarity with patient ratios of 3:1 or 4:1 in a step down or PCU environment
    • Team-oriented approach with strong communication and collaboration skills
