Registered Nurse – Acute Care (PCU / Step-Down)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Travel | Days | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | 13-Week Assignment | Rotating Weekends Required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a 25-bed inpatient acute care unit, including management of ED hold patients
- Monitor and interpret telemetry and continuous oxygen saturation data, responding to changes in patient condition
- Operate and manage unit equipment including BiPAP, Vapotherm, Baxter pumps, and patient lifts
- Document all patient care activities accurately using Cerner EMR
- Perform wound care and other unit-specific procedures as assigned
- Float to the Emergency Department as needed per unit staffing requirements
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Telemetry experience required; candidates without this will not be considered
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIHSS certification required
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills
Preferred Experience / Skills- ICU experience strongly preferred; candidates with this background will be prioritized
- Prior experience with Cerner EMR
- Familiarity with PCU or step-down level patient populations
