Contract | 26-Week Assignment | Night Shift (19:00–07:30) | Onsite | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend required | No call requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups, including post-op CABG/valve, thoracotomies, respiratory failure, and chest pain patients
• Operate and monitor unit-specific equipment including chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAPs
• Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines
• Float as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit; night shift orientation occurs on day shift — traveler must be available the entire orientation week

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license — must meet criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold a Missouri RN license
• BLS certification from AHA only
• ACLS certification from AHA only
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient Cardiac Stepdown experience
• Flu vaccination (or facility-approved exemption) required for assignments running November 1 – April 1; declinations are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS certification
• Experience with EPIC EMR
• Familiarity with post-op cardiac surgical patient populations (CABG, valve replacement, thoracotomy)
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team player and contribute to a positive unit culture
