Job Title

Travel RN – Medical Step Down / Intermediate Care (Weekend Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights | Weekend Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 36 or 48 hours per week guaranteed

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups
  • Provide direct patient care for post-operative, trauma, and high-acuity medical patients, including those requiring cardiac drips and BiPAP
  • Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
  • Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
  • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines
  • Float to departments of equal or lower acuity as needed based on unit requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Current RN license; must be eligible for or currently hold licensure in the state of Missouri
  • Minimum 2 years of Step Down or ICU experience
  • BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR
  • Experience with post-operative care, cardiac drips, and BiPAP
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 through April 1
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience caring for trauma patients and high-acuity surgical patients
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced step down environment
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to adapt to varying patient care demands
