Travel RN – Medical Step Down / Intermediate Care (Weekend Nights)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | 13 Weeks | Nights | Weekend Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 36 or 48 hours per week guaranteed
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups
- Provide direct patient care for post-operative, trauma, and high-acuity medical patients, including those requiring cardiac drips and BiPAP
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines
- Float to departments of equal or lower acuity as needed based on unit requirements
Required Qualifications- Current RN license; must be eligible for or currently hold licensure in the state of Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of Step Down or ICU experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Experience with post-operative care, cardiac drips, and BiPAP
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 through April 1
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience caring for trauma patients and high-acuity surgical patients
- Demonstrated critical thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced step down environment
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to adapt to varying patient care demands
