Contract | Full-Time | Night Shift (19:00–07:30) | Every other weekend rotation | No on-call required
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity MS/PCU unit (29 beds) managing patient types including respiratory failure, sepsis, GIB, bariatric post-op, diabetic, CHF, COPD, pneumonia, acute SNF, and TIA/stroke rule-out
Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 (PCU) and 1:5 (MS/MT), collaborating with CNA support for vitals, blood glucose checks, toileting, bathing, and feeding
Perform telemetry monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, CIWA protocol management, BiPAP management, and central line maintenance
Administer and monitor common medications including Cardizem, Dopamine, Heparin, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Dilaudid (comfort care/PCA)
Complete bedside handoff and maintain whiteboard documentation each shift as required
Float to ED Holding and overflow areas as needed; travelers are expected to float first
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
Minimum 1 year of PCU experience required; first-time travelers considered with strong experience
Demonstrated skills in telemetry, CIWA, BiPAP, central line maintenance/management, tube/drain management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and IV skills
Traveler Telemetry Competency exam must be completed and passed prior to start date
Proficiency with EPIC (preferred), Alaris, and Pyxis
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with chest tube management and trach care
Home ventilator management experience
Prior travel nursing experience
