Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Progressive Care Unit with a 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
Monitor and manage post-operative patients including surgical, cath lab, orthopedic (spine and joint), and GYN surgery cases
Care for patients presenting with stroke, chest pain, CIWA, renal failure, and respiratory failure
Administer and monitor cardiac drips at set rates, including heparin titration, and care for post-procedure cardiac patients (post-PCI, post-pacemaker, ablation, cardioversion, re-vascularization)
Utilize telemetry monitoring equipment and post-operative monitoring systems throughout the shift
Collaborate with charge nurses, fellow RNs, and patient care technicians to deliver high-quality, team-oriented care
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of current acute care hospital PCU experience (required)
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
Cardiac nursing experience
Prior experience with Meditech or CPN electronic medical record systems
