Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Contract (13 Weeks) | Nights, 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 Hours Per Week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 36-bed Medical Surgical Intermediate Care unit with heavy telemetry monitoring
- Manage a patient population that includes stable and weaning ventilator/trach patients, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke
- Administer and monitor insulin drips and other complex medication regimens at a 4:1 patient ratio
- Float to other inpatient units as needed, typically to higher acuity settings
- Complete documentation and patient care tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Adhere to all facility infection control and health compliance policies, including masking requirements during flu season if applicable
Required Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA or ARC
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (firm requirement)
- Stepdown, Intermediate Care, or PCU experience required
- Ventilator and trach experience required
- At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ICU experience preferred
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records preferred
