Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Wausau, WI

Contract (13 Weeks) | Nights, 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 Hours Per Week | Onsite

• Provide direct patient care in a 36-bed Medical Surgical Intermediate Care unit with heavy telemetry monitoring
• Manage a patient population that includes stable and weaning ventilator/trach patients, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke
• Administer and monitor insulin drips and other complex medication regimens at a 4:1 patient ratio
• Float to other inpatient units as needed, typically to higher acuity settings
• Complete documentation and patient care tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Adhere to all facility infection control and health compliance policies, including masking requirements during flu season if applicable

• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA or ARC
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (firm requirement)
• Stepdown, Intermediate Care, or PCU experience required
• Ventilator and trach experience required
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required

• ICU experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records preferred

• Guaranteed 36 hours per week with every other weekend and every other holiday scheduling
