Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 12-bed Progressive Care Unit serving a mixed medical patient population
- Maintain a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio during night shift operations
- Collaborate with a night shift team including charge nurse and patient care technicians
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using Meditech EMR
- Participate in unit float rotation as required
- Demonstrate teamwork and a positive attitude in a fast-paced PCU environment
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Texas or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 1 year of PCU, IMC, or Step-Down nursing experience
- Proficiency with Meditech EMR or ability to quickly adapt to electronic medical records systems
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Current BLS certification; additional certifications as required by unit standards
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in a PCU or Step-Down setting
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and progressive care patient populations
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to integrate quickly into existing care teams
