Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Intermediate Care / PCU / Stepdown

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit with a patient population including chest pain, rule-out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacer, pre/post cardiac catheterization, and patients requiring intermediate care acuity
  • Monitor, read, and independently interpret telemetry strips using Nihon Kohden monitoring equipment
  • Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitroglycerin, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
  • Manage radial bands and perform groin checks post-catheterization; manage patients on Tikosyn therapy
  • Collaborate with in-house hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapy, IV team, and pharmacy available 24/7
  • Float as needed to Telemetry or Med-Surg units per staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license — any licensing history must be disclosed at time of submission
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Ability to independently read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
  • Competency in titrating drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitroglycerin, and Heparin
  • Ability to work a rotating weekend schedule (4 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule) and flexibility for holiday coverage as needed
  • Valid, unexpired driver's license required — copy must be submitted with application
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior experience with Sunrise EMR
  • Experience managing intermediate care or step-down level patients including post-cardiac catheterization care and Tikosyn therapy management
  • Familiarity with high-flow oxygen delivery systems (AirVo) and BiPAP (Respironics) in a collaborative respiratory therapy environment
