Contract | 13-Week Assignment | 12-Hour Night Shifts | Onsite | 48-Hour Guaranteed Hours Option Available (Overtime After 48 Hours)
Key Responsibilities
Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Administer medications safely and in accordance with state practice standards and facility policies, including IV push medications and select drip titrations (Cardizem, heparin, amiodarone).
Serve as the primary point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments, including communication with family members and caregivers.
Manage patients presenting with cardiac, surgical, and respiratory illness, including post-op drains and wound vacs; participate in Tikosyn loading protocols.
Advocate for patient safety by actively participating in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and collaborating with palliative, spiritual, and ethics teams as needed.
Perform primary assessments and delegate appropriately within a team nursing model that may include LPNs and PCAs.
Required Qualifications
Current RN license in the state of practice or covered under a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from an approved source required prior to direct patient care.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
NIH Stroke Certification required.
Dysrhythmia Exam required (study guide available upon request).
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; acute care hospital setting experience required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
CCRN or PCCN certification preferred.
Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) system preferred.
Completion of a Critical Care Course preferred.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
