Job Title: Interventional Radiology RN Profession: RN Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1+ years License: RN License Required Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS; Certification with ARNA preferred Must-Have Skills/Experience: Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Responsible and accountable for quality care of patients while in the Imaging Department. Provides direct patient care while the patient is in the Imaging department, including monitoring the patient's condition. Observes the patient's vital signs and records if applicable. Maintains the intravenous lines of those patients who are receiving intravenous fluids. Administers first aid and assists with patient comfort when applicable. Administers medications under the direction of a physician. Assists in various procedures in the Imaging department. Duties require interaction with patients of various age groups, social, and economic backgrounds. Maintains IV skills. Maintains emergency equipment and supplies utilized in emergency patient care. Knowledgeable concerning emergency equipment available in the Imaging department and its placement within the department. Maintains the emergency equipment in proper working order. Familiar with and maintains proper drug inventory in the crash cart and emergency drug reaction kits. Acts as a liaison between the Imaging department and the patient care division. Responsible for proper documentation of patient's records while the patient is in the Imaging department. Notifies the appropriate person concerning any adverse changes in the patient's condition or any problems encountered pertaining to patient care while the patient is in the Imaging department. Coordinates with the patient care division any changes in Imaging policies and procedures which would affect patient care division, such as patient preparations for specific Imaging exams. Performs other duties as assigned by the Imaging Director. Provides excellence in hospitality, courtesy, and compassion. Preferred Skillset/Experience: Experience with invasive and non-invasive procedures in Imaging modalities. Personality fit for critical care nursing, capable of performing well under pressure. Dress Code: Scrub color: Surgical scrubs provided. Unacceptable attire includes street clothes. General Comments: Facility is a 245-bed Level 3 Emergency and Trauma Center. Comprehensive Cardiac Center Certification from The Joint Commission's Accreditation and Certification program. Primary Stroke Center Certification with Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission. Missouri Level II Stroke Center designation. Missouri Level I STEMI Center designation.
