Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Imaging Administration Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 9 Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a Registered Nurse License: Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License in the State of Illinois Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), PALS (American Heart Association) within 6 months of hire Must-Have: Strong patient assessment skills, effective communication, medication administration experience, and knowledge of conscious sedation Description: As a member of the interdisciplinary team, you will contribute professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients through the application of the nursing process. You will perform procedures that ensure accurate and complete examinations within guidelines and standards. You are expected to oversee and perform thorough and accurate patient assessments to evaluate patient status. You will analyze findings and report significant observations appropriately and enhance family communication. You will assume responsibility for ensuring efficient and thorough interventional case flow. You will administer medications and conscious sedation safely and effectively following established policies. You will control narcotics and supplies utilizing appropriate documentation. You will monitor patient conditions and initiate appropriate interventions as needed. You will follow and oversee safety goals and quality throughout procedures. You will demonstrate competency in caring for critically ill patients and functioning independently in emergency situations. You will set up and use monitoring equipment during procedures. You will perform venipuncture and insertion of peripheral catheters. You will perform adult and pediatric catheterizations as needed. You will conduct daily inspections of equipment and supplies as appropriate. You will function as a circulating tech and as a scrub assistant during procedures. You will educate patients and families while adapting teaching strategies based on specific needs. You will consult appropriate resources for specialized education and utilize patient education systems effectively. You will ensure patient safety by following policy and procedures. You will respond to a variety of situations with accountability and maintain confidentiality. You will demonstrate critical thinking skills and make independent judgments in decision-making. You must project a professional and friendly demeanor in all interactions.
