Job Title: Registered Nurse Procedural Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License. Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. Must-Have: ACLS (American Heart Association) required within 6 months of hire. Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in one of the specialty areas. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes physiological manifestations, and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients in sharing care plans while in the hospital and at discharge. Oversees treatment provided by technicians or other service providers. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Required Skills & Experience: Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques. Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Some computer skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team providing excellent specialized care. May require completion of orientation and ability to function independently in assigned specialty area prior to being assigned to this position. Education: Required Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program. Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a Board Approved Program preferred.
