Job Title: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 14 weeks Shift: 12H Days, 3x12s + Call Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Ventilator and pressor management skills for procedure rooms; Epic experience required Description: This position requires experience in circulating and monitoring patients during interventional procedures. The role may involve floating to assist with procedures in other radiological areas such as CT, Ultrasound, and MRI. Nurses will recover patients in a 17-bed post-procedure area. Common procedures and diagnoses include vascular, neuro, EP, cardiology, and various interventions such as CAT lab and IR procedures. Experience with conscious sedation is necessary as recovery nurses may perform procedures including bone marrow aspirations, bronchoscopy, and cardioversions. Nurses will be required to manage ventilators and pressors during procedures. The unit operates with three procedure rooms, with an average of 17 cases per day in the Cath Lab and 22-23 when including all other areas and procedures. On-call expectations include being available one night a week, with every third or fourth weekend on call during the day. Call response time is 30 minutes for procedure nurses and techs, and 45 minutes for recovery nurses. Nurses may have the opportunity to float among different areas on a voluntary basis. There is a cancellation policy of one shift per two-week period. The position requires a commitment to working in a fast-paced, acute care environment.
