Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Outpatient Infusion RN for a busy 21-chair infusion center averaging approximately 46 patients per day. This is an infusion-center role, not a vascular access position.
Non-Negotiable Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience
- Recent outpatient infusion experience
- Chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration experience required
- Active ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy certification required
- Active Maine RN license
- Strong peripheral IV insertion skills
- Central line care experience
- Blood transfusion experience
- Medication administration experience
Patient Volume and Ratios
- 21 infusion spaces
- Average daily census: approximately 46 patients
- Daily workload generally ranges from 7–9 patients, depending on treatment length, complexity, and acuity
Common Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy
- Start and manage peripheral IVs
- Access and care for central lines
- Administer medications and infusions
- Provide blood transfusions
- Monitor patients for reactions and changes in condition
- Educate patients regarding treatments, medications, and side effects
- Coordinate care with providers, pharmacy, and the interdisciplinary team
- Complete timely documentation in Epic
