Job Title: Interventional Radiology Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating 5x8s and 4x10s Hours per Shift: 8 or 10 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Must have active Illinois license to apply Certifications: ACLS, NIHSS required Description: Position available for an Interventional Radiology Nurse. The role requires a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience. First-time travelers are accepted. Certifications in ACLS and NIHSS are mandatory. Candidates must be open to floating within their scope to meet facility needs if required. Accommodating block schedules can be discussed during the interview process. Local travelers are accepted with no radius limitation. Pending licenses will not be accepted; an active Illinois license is mandatory for application. Ideally, candidates should have no more than 5 days of requested time off. Client may cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without compensation for the canceled hours. In case of cancellation of more hours, clients will be billed for the excess. On-call status will count as a canceled shift if candidates are placed on call instead of a scheduled shift. The facility is an acute care hospital with a Level I trauma center designation. It features a total of 562 staffed beds. Scrub colors accepted are any solid color. Charting is done using the Cerner system. Candidates are required to have experience in charting with Cerner. The daily focus is on diverse patient age groups, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The unit performs special procedures such as TIPS, GI bleeds, and post-partum hemorrhage management. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding and practical skills in Interventional Radiology. Key skills include assisting with central line insertion, administering blood products, and managing procedural sedation. Other important skills include infection prevention, managing IV therapy, and conducting various biopsies. Candidates must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment and providing high-quality patient care.
