The nurse will care for pediatric, adult, elderly, acutely, and chronically ill patients. Preparedness for unexpected emergencies during radiological procedures is essential. The nurse ensures patient privacy, dignity, and safety. Responsibilities include: Complying with policies and procedures to provide optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process. Prioritizing patient needs and functioning as a patient advocate. Assessing the biological, psychological, sociological, and cultural needs of patients and families. Monitoring patient conditions, including vital signs and electrocardiogram changes, and initiating appropriate interventions. Recognizing and documenting contrast reactions and assisting in their treatment. Intervening in emergency situations is essential. Assisting radiologists with special procedures that require professional nursing skills. Administering conscious sedation and monitoring patients as appropriate. Assessing and administering other medications as needed. Providing continuity of care for critically ill patients. Demonstrating skill in using special equipment such as monitors, infusion pumps, and oxygen equipment. Documenting patient status and nursing interventions accurately. Complying with patient identification protocols. Demonstrating ability to prioritize nursing responsibilities. Providing health teaching and procedural information to patients and families.
