Description:
The registered nurse will be responsible for nursing care during radiology procedures.
This includes interventional radiology, CT, MRI, and ultrasound.
The role encompasses pre and post-procedural recovery.
Ratios of 1:5 are expected.
First-time travelers are accepted.
Weekend call is occasional and based on availability.
Requirements include certifications in ACLS and BLS.
The department focuses on moderate sedation for patients undergoing procedures.
Nursing duties include monitoring and preparation for patients before procedures.
The candidate will also manage recovery for outpatient and inpatient care.
Special procedures include biopsies, tube placements, and various interventions.
The environment supports interdisciplinary collaboration.
The candidate may work with respiratory services and pharmacy among others.
Familiarity with end-tidal CO2 monitoring and infection prevention practices is important.
The role may require the use of specific monitoring equipment.
Support for patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics is provided in this unit.
The daily census typically ranges around 40 patients.
The number of procedure visits per day averages 25.
Candidates must be prepared for a dynamic work environment.
