RN – Interventional Radiology (IR / Special Procedures)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Days | 40 hours per week | Combination of 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour shifts | No set days off | On-call requirement includes nights, weekends, and one major holiday (approximately one night per week and one weekend per schedule period) | 30-minute call-back time required | On-call rooms available if needed

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in an Interventional Radiology setting across multiple procedure rooms handling CT and ultrasound-guided procedures
  • Manage 12–16 cases daily with a standard 1:1 patient ratio, with the potential to see 6–7 patients per day
  • Independently read and interpret telemetry strips to monitor patient cardiac status throughout procedures
  • Support Neuro IR and stroke intervention cases, applying specialized clinical knowledge and skills
  • Participate in on-call rotations covering nights, weekends, and major holidays as scheduled
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Massachusetts
  • Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience required
  • Critical Care experience required
  • Neuro IR and/or stroke experience required
  • Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips; must pass a telemetry competency test on day one with a score of 85% or higher
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience in a Level I Trauma center environment
  • Background in Critical Care beyond minimum requirement, with demonstrated ability to manage high-acuity patients
